The reservoir sits beside the Military Training Area on Dartmoor. On Firing Days, access for maintenance can prove very difficult. Only a small window of one hour early morning provides essential access.
Mary Tavy Hydro Electric Power Station on Dartmoor was built before WWII.
One of only two in England. It supplies power to the National Grid 24 hours a day.
