The Flow Country in the Scottish Highlands is Europe’s largest expanse of blanket bog. Full of sphagnum mosses, these bogs play an important role in regulating carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, acting as a carbon sink, and helping to prevent climate change.
The RSBP are now care-takers of much of Flow Country, with particular importance for red-throated and black-throated divers and the common scoter.
