Colour Contrast: the black stuff on the walls is a phenomenon called “The Angels’ Share”. In French “La part des anges” - or in this case with the girl – “an angel in waiting”. A black fungus grows upon the doors and walls of a Cognac distillery in Jarnac. The fungus is a habitat colonist with a preference for airborne alcohol (like the locals)

And raining heavy. In my garden the flowers are dropping and broken - so I've decided to grasp the situation in my hands - and bring them inside to photograph them.

I managed to capture these bubbles in ice by leaving out a bucket of water during a freezing winter night. Then backlighting the slab of ice to capture – what looks like – an interstellar scene.

In West Somerset, there's a range of hills called the Quantocks. The generations of people who are stewards of the land there have kept wild Exmoor Ponies, who through their grazing, along with the sheep who are also kept here, are the perfect ancient remedy the controlling bracken and briar bushes.
Following a year outside in the English winter and, this sycamore leaf as decayed down to its structure. Leaving a filigree, lace finish that shines in the golden light of the evening Spring sunshine.
